Maintaining level trim at high speeds is essential for comfort, control, and efficiency. Most powerboats carry more weight aft, causing the bow to rise and the hull to porpoise in rough conditions—leading to discomfort, reduced handling, and increased fuel consumption.
Unlike trim tabs that correct pitch by adding drag and reducing speed, Enigma’s manually operated Dynamic Ballast System uses seawater intake to redistribute weight forward via an internal bow ballast tank. This rebalancing promotes level planing, smoother wave handling, and more predictable steering—without compromising performance.
Once conditions calm or the load changes, the water is easily discharged, returning the boat to its natural trim. Originally used in military, search and rescue, and offshore race craft, this technology is now standard across Enigma’s range—offering professional-grade ride quality to every owner.
